rising sun

Today is Easter and I almost forgot. LIke many evangelical, "contemporary" church goer--- I have no real sense of the resurrection season. I have always thought of myself of a very liturgical fellow, but this lenten season, I have let myself down. If you go back and read my blog you would see my Ash Wednesday service entry; I received the the ashes and started the season strong only to be let down by lack of participation from me and lack of information from the church. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going to the church I am at, but there is no real Liturgical form or tradition. I understand, its strictly protestant, but I am not. Yes, I could go to another church for my liturgy, but I didn't. Now I am left here, writing my blog about lack of connection to the community of God, having to be reminded of the Joy of Easter by one of my Catholic friends at the local coffee shop. "Christ has risen!" She pronounced. My response, "Indeed, Christ has risen!" There has to be a better alternative, more than a middle ground when joining the worlds of Christianity. "Christ has risen....Christ has risen indeed!"

Maybe if you went to a "real church" and not a fake snooty mega church, you might get a sense of what being "in Christ" really means!
