breathe

Doc's in Denton say no cancer in Lungs. They want to do resection of the liver late December. Things are looking good---there seems to be a divine touch, a mystery of a close reality that has been not seen with the eye! That’s the details of late of the Physical condition of Dad, however, there is so much more to this tale than just the "seen."

To judge reality by what is seen with the eyes is just naiveté and completely foolish. The two worlds of heaven and earth have been brought into one world, this world in which we live. If you were to ask the Hebrews of old about God, they would respond with a loud voice, God walks among the people. Isaiah tells us to walk humbly before the Lord. Genesis is a story of God among his people. The disciples after leaving the upper room would testify about these two realties, indeed live in one realm. Make no doubt about it, we are God's people, living in a world that is not residing into two separate realties, as in Platonic thought, but rather God is among us caring, judging and leading his people.

This earthly, unseen reality is evident through what we normally refer to as faith. However, this unseen reality has come to be seen through the life of my dad. When I hear the word faith, my fathers face comes to the forefront of my mind. I can imagine the Israelites having Passover and retelling stories of Abraham's, Noah, and Moses' fatih. Having the Israelites sit down on Passover and after having killed the Lamb and eating dinner recalling the men of Old and being encouraged by stories of Faith. I can't help thinking the same things as I sit and recall the many conversations with my father. In light of chaos, there seems to be a presence of Peace and willingness to call the Kingdom of Heaven on his personal life, family, and his world. This is no small task and I am fully confident that this is not on his own strength. Where there should be sorrow, there is Joy. Where there should be turmoil, there is Peace. Where there should be tears, there is laughter. It makes me think of the sermon of the mount, Jesus uses pictures and layers which seem to be totally opposing forces of reality to collide and the outcome is not what we expect. This truth is evident in the unseen, yet seen through the soul of my Dad, and I am confident that God will work healing around this faithful follower. For I am sure that Paul was right when he wrote, "..in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

It is this love, that no one can draw a line to, it’s this unseen reality, is the reason why I believe. It is this Faith that I have seen and testify, and it is by this Faith that I now live.
