a line marks the spot where faith and life met

Today is a good day. Today my dad is arriving back home. After a month in Houston recovering from surgery, he is back. No doubt bruised and sore, but with a new perspective of life. You see, its times like this past month when one is forced to stop and think through the corners of one's mind. To stop and think about life, faith, God, family, sin, sacrifice and how these dance together.

He has a new scar, its down the middle of his abdomen. Yes, its a scar where the Doctors went inside to take part of his organs away and to examine his body. Its also a scar that gives a picture to how our faith is being built. I guess you could call it our Ebinezier. Its our stone that we look at and remember where God intervened. As we run our hand down the stables and feel the cold, hard stainless steel, we remember where we cried out to God for hope, where we waited on God to hear our prayer, where we waited sleepless night longing for God in the pain, in the weariness of our souls. No, we realize that this is not over, there will many more stories of faith, hope and love, but for now, we thank God that he is home. We thank God for giving us strength. We thank God for showing us that we can't do alone. We thank God for allowing us to be weak, tired, and mad. We thank God. Today we stop, take a deep breath, lift our head, open our heart, and sing; Holy, Holy, Holy is the lord God almighty. Today we thank God.

Our family has a new scar, a scar that we find hope in.
