Dad had a high fever for several weeks, but the doctors couldn't find the source of infection. We prayed. We prayed that God would come quickly, give dad a rest of the high fever. We Prayed that the fever would break and the infection would come out of his body. We prayed the Blood of Christ on the infection. We Prayed that the healing light would infect the infection.
Today, Dad was at work when healing started and our faith had to swing into action. In the blink of an eye, Dad started to smell a very distinct odor. It wasn't long till the odor overwhelmed me and filled the tiny office of Pro Solutions. Dad was worried, as was I. He stood up and the wound that is still opened for healing purposes, began to leak a fluid that was the source of the odor. It was traumaic to say the least, for a moment time stood still. The foul odor was dead cells leaking from his body, dead infection. We drove home windows open, fluid leaking and Dad's spirit low. What Dad didn't know, the foul odor was the smell of Healing. The infection that was inside of his body was now running for cover outside the body. The odor that is still present in this office, was the sweet smell of God's spirit overwhelming the body.
As we drove to the house to re-pack the wound, all I could think of was how the smell seemed so bad, but really not seen to the eye, the smell was the chemical denaturing of cells that was the source of the fever. What our senses saw and smelled as bad was the exact opposite of what was really going on. Faith, not looking at the circumstances, but trusting in God, for the unseen reality of this world. The unseen reality of tiny cells dying. The sweet smell of healing overwhelmed me today.
What foul things are there in my life, that actually God is using for my good?
Faith. Hope. Love.
Rest in the healing hands of the divine.
