learning to be simple

Sitting in the coffee shop once again, finding my self watching a 4 year little boy twist and turn in his chair. He, just as all little boys, talk where everyone can hear and continues to ask the same question over and over again. I was in the middle of reading my book, when I heard the voice of God speak through this little prophet. In his high pitch screaming voice, "Tell me please, Daddy!" Tell me please, tell me! As I continued you to hear the dialogue between father and son I soon found that the family was on vacation and they had a big day planned for this little man. He was excited and could not contain his excitement any longer.

Oh, to be a child again. Ridding in the back seat of life, packed with excitement, questions and energy. To eat, drink, sleep and live everyday with faith that tomorrow is a new adventure. Where your mind is packed with concrete ideas laced with the understanding that anything is possible. Oh, to be a child. To live in a world that is free from all the grown up "laws of science" and sophistication that debunks life all to often. No wonder why Jesus wanted to be around the children.

Lord, make me simple minded. Give me a child like faith.
