starting over

This Monday signals the start of the 2008 spring semester and with it comes routine. There is something supernatural about routine. Everyday, back your bag, drive to Denton, listen & learn, drive home and study, study, study. Only to redo everything just as the day before. Routine, contrary to popular belief, will free time and allow for great possibilities and creativity. Yes, there is something spiritual about routine.

The Jews, by their routine, experienced and ushered in Holiness by routine. However, there is another side of routine, a darker side. Routine, Holy as it may, can lead to apathy and laziness. Routine without passion is truly a tool of the evil one. The Question is how do we keep passionate about the routine of our daily lives? One way is to look at routine as anything but eternal. Does this mean that routine changes? HA! By definition, its a French root from route, meaning road. So you see routine is not an end in it self, but rather a means of destination. Maybe routine is the thing we shouldn't change, maybe we need to change our destination.

Does this make sense?
